Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo is a 10 minute drive away and is always a popular day out for all ages.

Ingledene Bed and Breakfast is just 10 minutes walk into Pickering Town Centre. The location is an ideal base for you to explore this beautiful part of North Yorkshire.

Pickering is known as the 'The gateway to the North Yorkshire Moors' and the town itself plays host to a bustling market each Monday. The 'Museum of Rural Life' is also worth a visit & why not take a stroll around Pickering Castle, an impressive bailey fortress founded by William The Conqueror.

The famous North Yorkshire Moors Railway is just a 15 minute walk away from Ingledene B&B and The Beckside Campsite. It's a great day out for everyone young and old - 18 miles of preserved steam railway through the spectacular scenery of the North Yorkshire Moors. The trains run to Whitby and back throughout the holiday season.

If mountain biking is your thing, Dalby Forest is close by with its various cycle routes - ranging from a gentle ride to the advanced Black Route. For non bikers there is lots to see and do too, with fantastic forest walks, scenic drives, attractions such as Go Ape, Off-road Segways, play areas and lovely picnic/BBQ areas.

The historic City of York is only a 30 minute drive away, where you will find York Minster, Medieval streets such as 'The Shambles, plus lots of attractions such as The Jorvic Viking Centre, Castle Museum, York Dungeons, etc.. you can even talk a walk around the famous 'City Walls' giving views not normally seen. On the outskirts of York, you will find one of Britain's finest stately homes - 'Castle Howard', a 'must visit' while you are in the area.

Coastal days out are great fun and provide the usual seaside entertainment - Pickering is close to the coastal towns of Whitby, Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington, with lots of lovely quaint fishing villages to visit.
